Frequently Asked Questions
What areas does Off Leash K9 Training serve around Tempe?
Off Leash K9 Training of Phoenix serves dog owners throughout the Phoenix area, including Phoenix, Glendale, Peoria, Surprise, Tempe, Morristown, Florence, Sun City, El Mirage, Bumstead, Tolleson, Mesa, Sacaton, Mobile, Gilbert, Chandler, Goodyear, Carefree, New River, Scottsdale, and surrounding communities.
How long do training programs take to show results?
Training timelines depend on the program selected and the dog’s needs. Basic Obedience is a 4-week program with 4 private lessons, while the 2 Week Board & Train is a 2-week immersive program where the dog boards with a Pro Trainer. Long-term success depends on owner consistency and continued practice after training.
Do you work with aggressive dogs in Tempe?
Yes, we specialize in aggression and reactivity training. Our Aggression Board & Train ($3200) and Aggressive Dog Training ($950) programs specifically address these challenges. We work with dogs of all ages, breeds, and behavior issues, giving owners the skills, tools, and desensitization needed to regain control.
For serious aggression concerns, training can help owners build better control and management skills. The business notes that major behavioral issues such as dog aggression or people aggression, cannot be guaranteed during the 2-week board and train, but training can help give owners more control and better management tools.
What training methods do you use?
We use e-collar training for reliable off-leash obedience in most programs, combined with marker-based reward methods. Our Basic Marker Mastery™ program offers positive reinforcement training using clickers and slip leads. Distraction-proof training happens in real-world environments so your dog learns to behave in the settings where it matters most.
